Text

In molecular genetic studies, both genes and environment are measured, rather than inferred from correlations among family members. G × E interactions can therefore be tested in the general population, that is, without necessary reliance on a twin or adoption design. There are still advantages, nonetheless, to include measured genes and measured environments in the context of a family-based design, including twins and other siblings as well as parents and offspring.
