In the Reaction Time test, subjects confirm whether two abstract symbols match as quickly as possible. Mean time to correctly identify matches was found to correlate inversely with left putamen volume (right putamen had similar correlation, r=-0.06, but was below significance). These negative associations are consistent with literature30 and indicate increased volume correlating positively with cognitive speed (and negatively with reaction time).
