of increasing age with poorer birth outcome for African Americans was greater in hypersegregated areas than in other areas.71 Another study found that the elevated prevalence of CVD risk factors for blacks and Hispanic premenopausal women compared to white women was markedly reduced when adjusted for geographic location and education.72 Similarly, a Baltimore, MD study found that disparities in health between blacks and whites are attenuated when they live in similar SES and socio-environmental conditions, compared to nationally observed patterns.73
