Furthermore, only groups with sufficient sample sizes for meaningful analyses were included (Caucasian, Asian American, African–American, Latino, and multiethnic); 25 participants who were missing racial data or were from a group with insufficient representation were excluded. Ultimately, data from 1,160 participants were used in the current analyses. The sample comprised 66% female participants, 58.7% Caucasians, 16.5% Asian–Americans, 14.7% Latinos, 7.1% multi-ethnics, and 3.0% African–Americans. The average AO was 16.16 years (2.14 SD) with an average delay of 1.25 years (1.95 SD; see Fig. 1 for a plot of AO by delay), and 22% of participants reported a parental history of alcohol-related problems.
