In the CA3 region, GIRK2 immunoreactivity was strongest in the strata oriens, radiatum and lacunosum–moleculare, compared with the more moderate expression in the stratum lucidum (Fig. 4B5 and B6). Additionally, in the dentate gyrus, strong GIRK2 immunoreactivity was again detected in the molecular layer and weaker labelling was observed in the hilus (Fig. 4BA6. No labelling was observed in the pyramidal and granule cell layers of the dentate.
