conclusions apply for all sites. The two best candidates to tap the lower level of severity of the continuum while keeping acceptable BICs scores were 12+ drinks monthly/any for men/women, and 5+ drinks weekly/monthly for men/women. The variable 5+ drinks weekly/monthly for men/women performed slightly better for Santa Clara and Pachuca, while the 12+ drinks monthly/any for men/women variable performed slightly better for Argentina and Poland, accordingly to their BICs values. For illustrative purposes we present the graphs of the criterion response curves for DSM-IV abuse and dependence criteria and 5+ drinks weekly/monthly for men/women in each study site.
