Chunk #48 — Results — Prediction of Maladjustment Group from EC and Impulsivity — CONT versus INT

Source
Longitudinal relations of children's effortful control, impulsivity, and negative emotionality to their externalizing, internalizing, and co-occurring behavior problems.

Text

For the measures of EC, 15 analyses (5 T1 predictors [parents’ and teachers’ reports of attention, inhibitory control, and observed persistence] × 3 outcomes [group status based on mother, father, or teacher report]) resulted in no significant findings. For impulsivity, there were three significant effects out of six models (2 raters of impulsivity × 3 raters of adjustment outcomes). Mother-, teacher-, and father-rated CONT (vs. INT) status was predicted by higher parent-rated impulsivity.
