Text

Emotion dysregulation was first examined as a mediator of the longitudinal relationship between peer victimization and aggression. Time 1 peer victimization was significantly associated with aggression at Time 3, controlling for aggression at Time 1, β=.10, p=0.032, R2=.16. Model fit was as follows: χ2(52)=453.4, p<0.001, CFI=0.94, and RMSEA=0.08 (90% CI: 0.07–0.08). Time 1 peer victimization was associated with Time 2 emotion dysregulation, controlling for emotion dysregulation at Time 1, β=.11, p=0.005, R2=.65. Model fit was as follows: χ2(52)=442.6, p<0.001, CFI=0.89, and RMSEA=0.08 (90% CI: 0.07–0.08). Time 2 emotion dysregulation was associated with Time 3 aggression, controlling for Time 1 symptoms, β=.23, p<0.001, R2=.21. Model fit was as follows: χ2(52)=113.97, p<0.001, CFI=0.99, and RMSEA=0.03 (90% CI: 0.02–0.04).
