The following covariates were included in the model: age and experimental batch in adipose and LCL analysis, and age, experimental batch and sample processing in the skin analysis. All available complete twin pairs were included, corresponding to 143 MZ and 214 DZ pairs with adipose profiles, 138 MZ and 221 DZ pairs with LCL and 108 MZ and 162 DZ pairs with skin profiles, respectively.
