Male SHRs and WKYs, obtained from Charles River Laboratories (Raleigh, NC), were housed in a humidity- and temperature-controlled environment on a reversed 12-hr light/dark cycle (lights off at 09:00) with ad libitum access to food and water. All procedures were conducted in accordance with the National Institutes of Health Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals and approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York.
