Lung tissue was collected from patients who underwent lung resectional surgery at the three participating sites; Laval University, University of British Columbia, and University of Groningen. Lung specimens from the Laval site were taken from the Respiratory Health Network Tissue Bank of the FRQS (www.rsr.chus.qc.ca). Subjects' enrollment and lung tissues processing at the three sites are described in Text S1.
