for activations in the ventral attention network, with a spatial correlation of 0.51 (p<0.001), and a minor overlap for those in the dorsal attention network, with a spatial correlation of 0.10 (p<0.001). By contrast, the P300-fMRI correlation map showed stronger correspondence with the dorsal than with the ventral attention network, with a correlation of 0.34 (p<0.001) and 0.21 (p<0.001) respectively. Activations obtained with the classical and the correlation-based approaches within visual and motor areas were found to be present in the two corresponding networks separated by ICA, but our EEG–fMRI analysis revealed them as not significantly correlated with the P300 response fluctuations (Table 1).
