Conditional indirect effects (with 95% bias-corrected bootstrapped confidence intervals) can be found in Table 4. Briefly, the conditional indirect effect of 5-HTTLPR on both alcoholic drinks consumed and binge drinking days through SRE-5 was significant at low levels of parental monitoring. In addition, the conditional indirect effect on drinks consumed continued to be significant at moderate levels of parental monitoring. These effects were positive, indicating that higher SRE-5 scores were associated with a greater number of alcoholic drinks and binge drinking days at lower levels of parental monitoring, but not at high levels of monitoring.
