Accordingly, SNX27 preferential association with GIRK2c/3 (Lunn et al., 2007) would selectively target GABABR-activated GIRK channels. In support of this idea, expression of GIRK2a in DA neurons lacking SNX27 led to slightly larger D2R-activated currents (54 ± 14 pA N=8 for Dat-Cre+/− and 71 ± 22 pA N=6 for GIRK2a in SNX27DA KO), though additional experiments are needed to substantiate this finding.
