alpha-band (10–12 Hz) phase synchronization across the population of pairs of recording sites in FEF and ACC (Fig. 3a,b and Supplementary Fig. 2). This theta- and beta-band phase synchronization was evident in both monkeys (Fig. 3b). In addition, we observed increased interareal theta- and beta-band synchronization in the preparatory period (400–1,100 ms following fixation onset) of the pro-/anti-saccade task compared to baseline (Supplementary Fig. 2B).
