Second, although we find evidence for our hypothesized main and interactive effects, they only account for a small amount of the variance. Third, we relied on a modest set of self-report measures of the parenting and peer environments, and incorporating information from additional reporters or using additional methods is important. Finally, our adolescent and young adult subsamples included relatively broad age ranges, and we were unable to test whether our associations changed as a function of age due to limited sample size.
