after controlling for the main effect of parental alcohol problems (B = 2.27, t(281)= 5.92, p < .01). Taken as a set, the results of the analyses suggest that parental antisocial behavior and alcohol problems predict a greater number of life events. However, we did not find evidence for an indirect effect whereby life events in turn predicts cross-lagged adolescent externalizing behavior as reported by either mothers or teachers.
