The correlation in enrichments between migraine (all subtypes) and migraine without aura in the gene expression analysis was estimated to be 0.48 (s.e. 0.15), and in the chromatin data was estimated to be 0.60 (s.e. 0.13). Our results are consistent with the hypothesis that migraine without aura does indeed have a vascular component, and that another subtype of migraine may have a neurological basis which is sufficiently cell-type specific that the relevant cell types are not represented in either the GTEx or Franke lab data sets. These results highlight the importance of having as many tissues and cell types as possible represented in a multiple-tissue analysis.
