The Alcohol Dependence in Primary Care study (APC study) collected data between January 2013 and January 2014. General practitioners (GPs) were asked to evaluate their patients’ alcohol use as well as other health related variables and patients were interviewed independently by trained study personnel. While the most important features are stated below, more details on design, sampling, and assessment are described elsewhere [27–29].
