Text

HomoloGene is a system that automatically detects homologs, including paralogs and orthologs, among the genes of 20 completely sequenced eukaryotic genomes. HomoloGene reports include homology and phenotype information drawn from OMIM (21), Mouse Genome Informatics (22), Zebrafish Information Network (23), Saccharomyces Genome Database (24), Clusters of Orthologous Groups (COGs) (25) and FlyBase (26). The HomoloGene Downloader, appearing under the ‘Download’ link in HomoloGene displays, retrieves transcript, protein or genomic sequences for the genes in a HomoloGene group; in the case of genomic sequence, upstream and downstream regions may be specified.
