Finally, we ran identical analyses (both on each racial group separately and the combined sample) using the race variable generated from the SA method described earlier. Rather than using self-reported race to group individuals, we re-grouped individuals based on the randomly selected genetic loci into two racial categories using the Structured Association (SA) method (Pritchard et al., 2000). Because the results were identical to those reported here using self-reported race, we will not describe them further.
