Further, with few exceptions, studies have focused on a single substance at a time, making it difficult to detect common patterns across a range of different drugs. This study extends previous research by examining multiple types of drug use in a large population-based sample while utilizing a well-validated and comprehensive measure of personality that captures both global factors and specific facets of personality.
