Several caveats and limitations of our study warrant mention. First, findings are based on cross-sectional analyses. Second, aggression ratings were based on a one-time assessment by a single informant (e.g., teachers). In addition, results are based on a relatively small number of subjects. Although power to detect associations was enhanced because the sample was enriched for maltreatment and psychopathology, independent replication in a comparably traumatized cohort is warranted.
