Text

Our findings have important implications for prevention efforts as well as future investigations of the shared etiology of maltreatment and cannabis involvement. Identifying the sources of liability both to maltreatment and cannabis involvement and the variability across race/ethnicity in their associations will ultimately lead to improvements in interventions with young women who have experienced childhood maltreatment. It will also help mitigate cannabis-associated risks effectively in women of different racial/ethnic backgrounds.
