After selecting the PD criteria most predictive for AUD, we (ii) compared their performance to that of the composite PDs they are a part of (i.e., diagnoses) to demonstrate their specific relevance. To this end, we determined which one is more strongly associated with AUD, the broad DSM-IV disorders (Dx model) or their individual criteria (Sx model) in terms of generalized coefficient of determination (R2) and area under the receiver-operating characteristics curve (AUC) [7,39].
