Chunk #163 — V. “Generalization” of selected genome wide association results between related disorders and phenotypes — I. Failure of control experiments to support alternative hypotheses for the observed genome wide association results
There were no significant overlaps between the SNPs identified in these studies and the SNPs that provided the largest racial/ethnic differences. Comparison groups included: 1) SNPs that provide the largest racial/ethnic differences in comparisons between European- and African-American control individuals from samples 1 and 2) 2) (for Asian samples) SNPs that provide the largest racial/ethnic differences between Japanese andChinese HapMap samples 3) (for samples of European heritage) SNPs that display the largest allele frequency differences between United Kingdom samples of self-reported European heritage [155].
