The plus-maze consisted of two open arms, 30 × 5 cm, and two enclosed arms, 30 (1) × 5 (w) × 15 (h) cm. The arms extended from a central platform 5 × 5 cm, and the apparatus was raised to a height of 40 cm above the floor. The light level was adjusted to 15 Lux. Testing (5min) consisted of placing an animal onto the central platform of the maze facing an open arm. Between subjects the maze was cleaned with 70% ethanol. The percentage of time spent in the closed and open arms was scored using EthoVision 3.1 (Noldus Information Technology).
