Text

Avants et al. reported a decrease in caudate volumes in cocaine-exposed children33. The cocaine-exposed children were also exposed to marijuana, tobacco and alcohol but not to methamphetamine. These poly-substance effects were not separately analyzed but the subjects were all right handed, socio-economically matched with no significant difference in IQ scores or gender.
