Chunk #19 — Effects of DYN/KOR Activity on Ethanol-Conditioned Behavior and Consumption — Operant Ethanol Self-Administration and Relapse-Like Behavior
As outlined in Table 3, a number of studies have employed operant conditioning procedures to examine the effects of manipulating KOR activity on ethanol responding and consumption. All of this work has been conducted in rats. KOR activation was reported to decrease operant oral ethanol self-administration in selectively bred ethanol-preferring rats (P rats) as well as non-selected Long-Evans rats (Henderson-Redmond and Czachowski, 2014).
