in microglia, which are challenged with myelin debris, for instance, after neuroinflammation-induced demyelination. By performing scRNA-Seq analyses, we discovered a microglial cell cluster that expressed particularly high levels of Cd83 (Ccl4+ cluster, see Fig. 4d, e). This cluster not only contains cells with high Lpl expression, but its gene expression pattern also resembles a specific cluster in human microglia (high expression of CCL3 and CCL4)22. Therefore, these data suggest a similar and evolutionary conserved regulation of CD83 expression in microglial cells.
