Text

MBT showed significant effects for reducing anxiety symptoms in individuals with anxiety disorders (n = 7 studies; Hedges’ g = 0.97, 95% CI: 0.72-1.22, p < .01), followed by individuals with cancer (n = 8 studies; Hedges’ g = 0.64, 95% CI: 0.45-0.82, p < .01), and pain disorders (n = 5 studies; Hedges’ g = 0.44, 95% CI: 0.21-0.68, p < .01). However, the intervention had no significant effect on anxiety symptoms in individuals with depression (n = 1 study; Hedges’ g = 0.12, 95% CI: −0.50-0.74, p = 0.70).
