We conducted power calculations under an additive genetic model, at alpha = 5×10−8, assuming the trait SNP and marker are in complete linkage disequilibrium with specified D′, for a range of assumed effect sizes starting with the strongest effect identified in the present study, using the Genetic Power Calculator (Purcell et al. 2003).
