Our identified 267 HLC-specific eGenes were significantly enriched for genes with known functions in decreased cholesterol level (MP:0003983; Benjamini-Hochberg FDR = 0.03), decreased sterol level (MP:0012225; FDR = 0.03), and decreased circulating cholesterol level (MP:0005179; FDR = 0.04) (Table S6). Perhaps not surprisingly, these HLC-specific eGenes were also enriched for liver selective genes as defined by MSigDB (M13283; FDR = 0.04).
