did not receive any early treatment, 70 (19%) received zidovudine monotherapy, 10 (3%) received didanosine monotherapy, and 42 (11%) received other ineffective antiretroviral therapy before AIDS-diagnosis. The mean age of participants at the time of (imputed) seroconversion was 34.5 years (range 19.5–57.7 years). A DNA sample was available from 335 of these 365 cohort participants for genotyping analysis (205 seroprevalent cases and 130 seroconverters). This cohort of MSM has been used for confirmation of host genetic factors and disease course [37]–[40].
