In an opening scene, a nurse rattles off a baby’s genetic propensity to develop a number of health problems: “Neurological condition: 60% probability; Manic depression: 42% probability; ADHD: 89% probability.” The movie imagines how that information could reshape society and have a profound impact on the lives of individuals who know their genetic proclivities and vulnerabilities from birth.
