Biogen has a second monoclonal antibody targeting tau, BIIB076, but the epitope has not been reported. Limited preclinical pharmacokinetic data describes BIIB076 as a “pan-tau” antibody targeting monomers and fibrils. [111] Biogen is currently running a Phase 1 trial in 56 healthy controls and mild AD patients, with a primary outcome of safety and tolerability, which is expected to conclude in early 2020 (NCT03056729).
