Text

Study/Study of Latinos (HCHS/SOL), there are fewer than 13,000 individuals who consented for genetic studies. Of these, about 7,000 individuals participated in a GWAS of diabetes (Qi et al., 2017) which is the largest published GWAS to date in Hispanics/Latinos. In contrast, the largest published GWAS of diabetes (DIAbetes Genetics Replication And Meta-analysis (DIAGRAM) Consortium et al., 2014) meta-analyzed multiple EA studies (N =≈70,000 cases and controls), and a smaller number of population studies of other ancestries (including about 2,500 Mexicans).
