imputed; the association analyses only included those SNPs that have been genotyped for at least 85% of the sample (N=7526). Association between a SNP and a phenotype is generally accepted to be genome-wide significant at α = 0.05 if the p value is 7.2*10−8 or smaller, as this corrects for the total number of independent tests (Dudbridge & Gusnanto, 2008). We performed eight separate association analyses, so declared significance level at 9.0*10−9 (7.2*10−8/8).
