• At present, the PRS is generally not very informative of disease status (that is, case or control) for psychiatric diagnoses at an individual level, although PRS are showing potential for clinical utility 25, 26, as has been shown in breast cancer, coronary artery disease, obesity, and diabetes 27, 28. Refinement of PRS methods and expansion of the discovery datasets may be expected to change this. Extreme PRS may be informative in some cases now (see below).
