The mean value of the total AUDIT score showed a low intensity of alcohol use disorders in Slovak students (mean = 6.01), which corresponds to the results in the US study (mean = 5.70) [103]. Ecuadorian and Spanish students also reported a low risk of alcohol use disorder [99,100]. On the contrary, our findings are not consistent with the findings of the UK study in which students reported hazardous use (ZONE II on the AUDIT scale) (mean = 9.9) [101]. Slovak female students obtained a mean score of 5.15 and male students obtained a mean of 7.54, which confirms the dominance of males. In other studies, male students also obtained higher AUDIT scores compared to their counterparts [99,100,102].
