When both the dependent and independent variables were continuous, the raw correlation between the variables is reported. All statistical tests are based upon adjusted regression coefficients, while the numbers in the Table columns labeled “No” and “Yes” show the raw (unadjusted) Mean (SD) or proportion. Although multiple (10) regression tests were conducted, each with several dependent variables, the exploratory nature of the investigation and the conservative use of multivariate models led to our decision to report findings at the conventional p < 0.05 level rather than using a downward Bonferroni-like adjustment of the p level required for statistical significance.
