consistent with evidence that physical activity reduces the risk of all-cause mortality (66–68). The effect sizes we observed – with active individuals living about two and half years longer – is in line with evidence from direct measures of physical activity or exercise (66). These findings highlight the importance of assessing both broad and specific facets of personality to obtain a more comprehensive evaluation. Examining specific aspects of personality, such as the FFM facets, might also reduce inconsistency across studies that emerge from the use of broader constructs.
