We compared those with an AUD who reported a suicide attempt and those with an AUD who did not report a suicide attempt across a range of sociodemographic, psychiatric comorbidities, experiences of trauma, and other measures related to alcohol misuse. We use multiple-group, multi-level regression models in Mplus (Rattana Wannisa & Rattana Narunart, 2558) and adjusted for sex, age (at time of psychiatric assessment), genetic similarity (AFR-like vs. EUR-like), family history of AUD, and family relatedness. We ran all models simultaneously (i.e., correlation among all variables accounted for) to limit multiple testing.
