Future studies might also consider the effects that risk factors may have on each other in successive developmental periods, such as models of developmental cascades (e.g., Cox, Mills-Koonce, Propper, & Gariépy, 2010; Dodge, Greenberg, Malone, & Conduct Problems Prevention Research Group, 2008; Dodge et al., 2009; Lansford et al., 2010; Masten et al., 2005; Sitnick, Shaw, & Hyde, in press).
