Text

HTR2B stop codon by alcohol interaction. Carriers of the stop codon were cognitively within the normal range, except for a potential difference in working memory, which is known to reflect frontal lobe function. In line with studies on humans, mice with the htr2b gene knocked out were more novelty seeking and impulsive. For example, in a delay discounting task, htr2b−/− mice were less able to tolerate delay in order to receive a larger reward.131
