Those with the GABRA6 rs3811995 GG genotype had lower behavioral control and greater externalizing behavior. Those with the 5-HTTLPR SS genotype had greater rates of alcohol use. Behavioral control was associated with lower externalizing behavior and lower rates of substance use. Resiliency was associated with lower externalizing behavior. Externalizing behavior was associated with greater substance use.
