There must, therefore, be a shift in the current public conceptualization of cannabis as being “only good” and a form of “alternative medicine” or “purely harmful”. High THC-potent cannabis may be mostly harmful, specifically in mental illness; however, pure CBD may promote therapeutic relief. Recognizing that cannabis exists in this ‘gray zone’ will ultimately aid in accurately filling the scientific gaps that remain, as well as in properly addressing policy implementation and social education.
