meta-analysis using SNPs within 1 Mb with an r2 >0.4 to the index variant. All downstream genetic analyses of AUDIT total score were performed using the GWAS meta-analysis summary statistics. The 23andMe AUDIT GWAS has previously been published (10) and 30,441 participants from the UKB cohort were included in a previous GWAS of alcohol consumption (9).The GWAS of alcohol consumption in UKB involved individuals genotyped during the first UKB data release (9). The individuals from UKB in the current study are those who completed the mental health questionnaire in 2017 and include those genotyped in both first and second UKB data release; the sample overlap between these two datasets is 30,441 individuals.
