a significant association (p<0.05) between FH-Alc and obesity in the NESARC for the majority of comparisons (36 out of 60, vs. 3 out of 60 for NLAES comparisons). These results suggest that the increased influence of FH-Alc over time is independent of a number of factors indicative of socioeconomic status and social disadvantage, and is not a result of confounding by sociodemographic or behavioral factors.
