There is little data on dual diagnosis (DD) of schizophrenia (SC) and substance use disorders (SUD) in the Latino population. The aims of this paper were to estimate the frequency of comorbid alcohol and drug use disorders in Latinos with SC from Mexican and Central American ancestry, and to describe the risk factors associated with SC in this population.
